Objective To study the feasibility of repairing cerebrospinal rhinorrhea by intranasal endoscopic approach. Methods 7 patients with cerebrospinal rhinorrhea underwent nasal endoscope and high resolution thin-scanned CT examination before operation. Messerklinger surgery was chosen to detect the position of cerebrospinal rhinorrhea. Internal muscles of leg, temporal muscle, muco-perichondrium of nasal septum and mucosa of inferior nasal turbinate were used as repair materials. Results Operations in all patients were successful and postoperative nasal function restored to normal. Conclusion If the indications are proper, repairing of cerebrospinal rhinorrhea under nasal endoscope has the characteristis of safy, mild injury and high successful rate. Mastering of endoscopic techniques and anatomy and are important assurance of surgical success.
