ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical features of Guillain — Barre syndrome combined with urinary disfunction.Method65 cases of GBS were investigated in this study, in which 14 cases with disuria (experimental group), 51 cases without urinary disfunction (control group). Clinical datas including age, sex, clinical manifestations, physical examination, laboratory findings, and maximal Hughes score were compared between the two groups. Statistic analysis were performed by SPSS 11.0 soft ware package.ResultsPatients suffered from GBS with disuria seemed to be more serious than control group, respiratory muscle weakness and sensory disturbance was more common, thus the maximal Hughes scores were higher (P<0.05).ConclusionUrinary disfuction appears in the early phase of disease and improved with the recovery. Urethral catheterization was necessary in some cases. There seemed to be more extensive immuological injuries in the experimental group. In one word, urinary disfunction indicates severity of GBS.
