Objective: To study the clinical significance of the detection of HPV DNA in the plasma to the diagnosis,progression and prognosis of the patients with cervical cancer. Methods: Nested PCR was employed to detect HPV-16/18 DNA in the plasma of 48 patients with cervical cancer,and 55 patients with cervical high-grade lesion ,6 patients with cervical low-grade lesion and 29 patients with cervical infective lesion as control groups.The correlation between the presence of HPV-16/18 DNA in plasma and the clinical stage of cervical cancer was analyzed by Chi-square test. Results: The presence of plasma HPV DNA in the four groups were 58.3%,40%,16.7%and37.9%, respectively.The presence of HPV-16 DNA in plasma were 20.8%,5.5%,0% and 6.9%,respectively. The presence of HPV-18 DNA in plasma were 50%,38.2%,16.7% and 31%,respectively.Eight patients including four with cervical cancer 2 stage ,three with 1 stage and one with CIN3,were detected both HPV-16 and HPV-18 positive in the plasma.Among 9 patients with...
