An adult with fever who had typical liver and central neural injury symptoms is presented. Excluding the possibility of bacterial and common viral infections, and considering the positive resultof serum specific COX-IgM antibody by ELISA,as well as the other laboratory evidence including the evaluation of cerebrospinal fluid,we made a right diagnosis: acute coxsackie virus hepatitis and meningoencephalitis. Coxsackie virus is an important pathogen in central neural infection, respiratory infection, and hepatitis, myocarditis, and so on.Higher attention should be paid to CVB infection when patients have fever with unknown reasons and multiple systematic injury.Understanding the clinical features of Coxsackie virus infections is very important to diagnosing and managing the relevant diseases.
