Effect Of HPP On Mice Sarcoma Radiotherapy And Chemotherapy

Objective To investigate the effect of Haishen Polysaccharide Peptide (HPP) on S₁80-mice sarcoma radiotherapy and chemotherapy .Methods (1) Effect of HPP on S₁80-mice sarcoma radiotherapy: Adult mice were randomly classified into control group, radiotherapy group, low-dosage ( 1% ) HPP group, medium-dosage ( 10% ) HPP group, high-dosage (20%) HPP group. Each group included 10 mice. HPP groups were given relative dosage food and control group and radio therapy group were given normal food. Five days later, they were injected with S₁80 sarcoma cell. Three days later, the radiotherapy groups were given local ⁶0Co- γ radiotherapy under ether anaesthesia, in the first two days and last two days, in the middle two days were for rest. After the last radiotherapy, the ratio of sarcoma cell to body cell, white blood cell (WBC), CRLC, SOD, MDA. level of p53 and bcl-2 were measured. (2) Effect of HPP on S₁80-mice sarcoma chemotherapy: Adult mice were randomly classified into control group, chemotherapy group, HPP group, HPP chemotherapy group. Each group included 10 mice. HPP group were given 20% HPP dosage food while control group and chemotherapy group were given normal food. Five days later, they were injected with S₁80 sarcoma cell. Three days later, the chemotherapy group was given 10 mg/kg Cyclophosphamide abdomen injection three times for every other day. In the day after the last chemotherapy, the ratio of sarcoma weight to body weighty level of bcl-2 were measured.Results (1) Effect of HPP on S₁80-mice sarcoma radiotherapy: by comparison of each group, in regarding of the ratio of sarcoma cell to body cell, white blood cell (WBC), CRLC, SOD, MDA, level of p53 and bcl-2, significant differences were among each group.
