ObjectiveRecently, many researches showed that the immortality of cancer cell was closely related to the activity of telomerase , inhibiting telomerase activity could reach the target of inhibiting proliferation, resisting immortality, and inducing apoptosis of human cancer cell. This study was designed to investigate the effect of selenium dioxide(SeO2) on human cervical cancer cell line,in culture,to describe the change of Hela cell' s growth, proliferation and telomerase activity, moreover, to reveal the relation of cervical cancer cell' s proliferation and telomerase activity.MethodThe various concentrations of SeO2(3, 10, 30umol/L) were given to Hela cell at different time ( 24, 48, 72, 96 hours) ; Methylthiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) method was used to determine the change of Hela cell proliferation at the different concentrations of SeO2 after different time; the morphological changes of the Hela cell were examined under microscope;TRAP - PCR - silver coloration assay was used to determine the changes of Hela cell' s telomerase activity.ResultAfter being treated with 3 umol/L SeO2, the growth of Hela cell was not...
