ObjectCryptorchidism is a common disorder of human males. The association of crychidism with the subsequent development of germ cell neoplasia in the affected testicle has long been recognized. Approximately 10% of all germ cell tumors arise from a cryptorchid testis. The risk of malignant transformation in a cryp-torchid testis has been estimated at 3 to 14 - fold that of a normal testis. The risk of malignant transformation in a intra - abdominal testis was estimated 4 - fold that of an external inguinal ring. The lifetime risk of malignant transformation in a intra - abdominal is 22.7% ; that of an external inguinal is 6 - 8%. Johnson reported that unilateral cryptorchid would affect the function of bilateral testes. About 20% the site malignant transformation is the other side : the scrotal testis. The bilater cryptorchid patients : one side has affected by testicular neoplasia ; the other side also had the risk of malignant transformation. The bilateral intra -abdominal testes patients, one testis has maligned, the risk of malignant transformation of the other testis is 30%. To dicuss the mechanism of cryptorchid malignancy , the c - kit, erbB - 2 genes of testicular tissuewere assayed with immuno-histochemical in 20 cryptorchids and 20 testicular malignant tissues in cryp-torchids.MethodsImmunohistochemical method was used to detect c - kit, erbB -2 in 20 cases of MDT and 20 cases of testicular malignant tissues in cryptorchids.
