Objective: To study the diagnosis significance of complement component C3 and factor B in the patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS). Methods: 33 critical ill patients were divided into two groups, patients with MODS were classiffied as one group(n=16), critical ill nonMODS patients were another group(n=17). Serum levels of C3 and factor B were measured by Beckman immunue instrument during 1-3 days in hospital Respectively ,the check-up results were analyzed comparatively. Result: The analysis showed that the sera levels of C3 and factor B were different between two group, P<0.01.the MODS group was higher than the critical ill groups with nonMODS. Conclusion: C3 and factor B was diagnosis significance in the patients with MODS, but it is to be proved if they can be used for the prognosis of MODS.
