The Study On ChangeS of Interleukin-6 Level Concentrate in Acute Myocardial Infarction Interventional TherapyPostgraduate: LI Heng-bin, Tutor: Assciated Prof., LIU MingzhuProfessor. HUANG LunObjective: To investigate the changes and the role of plasma interleukin-6 (IL-6) during acute myocardial infarction (AMI) interventional therapy and its clinical value in diagnosis and therapy. Methods: 14 cases of AMI received interventional therapy (stenting implant) and the successily surgery were disigned as group A; (2) 14 cases of AMI patients given thrombolysis therapy with urokinase and successful reperfusion was designed as group B, while 20 cases of patients with heart disease but not acute coronary syndrom (ACS) as group C. IL-6 levels in palsma were assayed by means of radioimmunoassay at admission and 12, 24 and 48 hrs after therapy in group A, B and in group C, respectively. IL-6 were measured only once when patients at admission. Results (1) The average IL-6 level of group A and group B were significantly higher than group C ( P<0.01 ) , while there was no significant difference between group A and B at admission. (2) IL-6 peak in plasma of group A was occured more early than that of group B ( p<0.01 )and the baseline level of IL-6 was more lower( P<0.05). (3) Therate of main abnormal cardiac events was significance different between groupA (2 case) and in group B (9 cases) after 6 weeks (p<0.05) . Conclusion IL-6 plays a critical role in the inflammatory response on injury of AMI.Monitoring the changes of plasma IL-6 would help to classify the risk degree of AMI and rationalize the therapy.
