Part I Examination of endothelial cell dysfunction in PIHObjective: To investigated the effect of endothelial cell dysfunction on the pathogenesis of pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH).Methods: 25 patients with PIH (divided into mild PIH pregnant group: 10 cases and moderate, severe PIH pregnant group: 15 cases);there were 15 health pregnant women as a normal pregnant group and 10 nonpregnancy women as only a controlled group of P-selectin. Veinal blood samples were collected before labor stage on each women. Then P-selectin, vWF, t-PA:Ag and PAI-1 :Ag were analyzed by ELISA.Results: The serum level of P-selectin and plasma level of vWF in moderate and severe PIH pregnant group were( 44.78+/-18.57)ug/ml and 1.75+/-0.38 respectively. Both were significantly higher than those of normal pregnant group [(28.93+/-7.85)ug/ml,P=0.0025 and 1.45+/-0.34,P=0.014 respectively]. The plasma level of PAI-1 :Ag was higher in moderate and severe PIH group(98.12+/-16.77)ng/ml than that of normal pregnant group [(83.65+/-20.07)ng/ml, p=0.04];the levels of P-selectin vWF and PAI-1 :Ag were no difference between mild PIH and normal pregnant groups. The levels of t-PA:Ag in three groups were no statistic difference. Conclusions: The blood levels of P-selectinN vWF and PAI-1 :Ag were increased following severity of PIH, especially levels of P-selectin and vWFwere positive corelation to patient with moderate, severe PIH. It suggested thatthe pathogenesis of PIH was related with endothelial cell dysfunction.
