Objective: To explore the effects of ABO blood type on fetal adrenal cells growth in vitro. Method: The fetal adrenal cells were cultured in the prescience of different blood type serums, and their survival rate, their growth and metabolism status were compared. Results: By microscope, the fetal adrenal cells grew well and their growth status did not show apparent difference. When stained with trypan blue, the survival rates of these cells were found above 95%. And their optical density (O.D) had not significant difference by MTT assay(P>0.05). And by transmission electron microscope, adrenal chromaffin cell containing lots of neuroendocrine granules and adrenocortical zona fasciculata cells containing lots of lipid droplet and smooth endoplasmic reticulum can be seen. The growth and metabolism status of the fetal adrenal cells didn't have apparent difference either. Conclusion: 1,The adrenal cells can be cultured by the methods of primary successfully.2,The ABO blood type didn't significantly affect fetal adrenal cells growth in vitro.3,There isn't necessary to match the blood type and tissue type between the receptor and the donor before transplantation.
