Experimental Study On Hugan Tablet Curing Alcoholic Liver Disease

Hugan tablet is a kind of preparation of Chinese traditional medicine which can decrease aminotransferase. It has been used extensively in clinic and acquired the better therapeutic effect.It has been admitted by pharmacopoeia of PeopleRepublic of China. This experiment expect to find some new pharmacological action of Hugan tablet by experimental studies on it curing alcoholic liver disease, the purpose is to enlarge its clinical use, to increase its indication and to exploit new complex prescription preparation of Chinese traditionaol medicine to get rid of humans disease and create good condition. This experiment proved that the three dose of Hugan tablet (0.8, 0.4, 0.2g/kg) can resist decreasing of wistar rats body weight and surem SOD (superoxide dismutase) and ALB (albumin) by continually feeding rats with this medicine for 45 days.In addition, it can inhibit obviously increasing of surem ALT (glutamate-pyruvate transaminase), AST (glutamic oxalacetic transaminase), MDA (malondialdehgde) and liver tissue MDA (malondial-dehgde). The pathological examination of liver indicate that the damage of three groups of Hugan babletare lighter than animal pattern group which prove that, to some extent, Hugan tablet can protect alcoholic damage of liver, its mechanism could be connected with decreasing of MDA, increaseing of SOD and GST (glutathione-S-transferase) and scavenging of free radical and lipid Peroxide.To conclude, to some degree, Hugan tablet can treatalcoholic liver disease if using it in terms of above mentionted dosage.
