Drug abuse is a serious issue throughout the world. Ketamine(K) is a new drug frequently used by drug abusers in recent years. There are significant needs to develop a quick and accurate analytical method for detection of ketamine in suspicious urine samples.This paper included three parts:(1)A GC-NPD method was developed for the the analysis and determination of ketamine.The method was convenient, fast and satisfying.(2)Liquid-liquid extraction method has been developed for extracting ketamine from urine sample. The extraction effect T)fcyclo-hexane, hexane, benzene, ethyl acetate and chloroform/iso-propyl alcohol was compared . Rate of recovery of ketamine was 100% extracted by cyclo-hexane, hexane(with low toxicity) in alkaline solution. Benzene could extract ketamine from urine in acidic solution.(3) Heptafluorobutyric anhydride(HFBA), Trifluoroacetic anhydride (TFAA), Pentafluoropropionic anhydride (PFPA) ,N-Methyl-N (trimethylsilyl) trifluoro acetamide(MSTFA) four derivation reagent was compared.Two derivation methods -heating and microwave was compared too.
