| Lung cancer was one of the most dangerous diseases to mankind and both the morbidity and mortality of which increasingly rose in the world in many countries and metropolises. Its mortality was on the top list of tumors. In the becoming 30 years, lung cancer will be the main reason of Chinese. Invasion and metastasis are very important features of malignant tumors, being the main factors that made patients'death. From statistic report of clinics, 80% malignant tumor patients'death was caused by invasion or metastasis. At present, five year survival rate of lung cancer is just 10% and the basic reason is that we are not able to control and block up the invasion and metastasis of tumor cells. PTTG was found by Lin Pei. During the following investigations, it has been proved that PTTG takes very important position in multiplication, transform, and tumors'occur. In this research, we observe the expression of PTTG - encoding and C -myc - encoding products in lung cancer of squamous cell carcinoma. By detecting the expressions of PTTG and C - myc in human lung squamous cell carcinoma, we explore the relation between PTTG C - myc and clinical factors, and analyze the correlation between PTTG and C - myc.Method85 lung squamous cell carcinoma samples staged according to 1997 international lung cancer TNM staging, were detected for the expressions of PTTG and C - myc by SABC immunohistochemistry method. All data were analyzed using SPSS 11.0 statistics softwareResultsAmong 85 lung squamous cell carcinoma patients, 66 (77. 65% ) showed positive expression of PTTG by immunohistochemistry, 56 (65. 88%) showed positive expression of C - myc by immunohistochemistry, the correlation of the expressions between PTTG and C - myc showed statistical significance ( p < 0. 05, r > 0) . The positive rates of PTTG protein were 94. 59% , .77.78% and 47. 62% in low medole, high differentiating squamous cell cancinoma. The results of three groups have statistical significance ( p <0.05 ) . The expression of PTTG in N0 stage compares with the one in N1 and N2 stage. The results of two groups have statistical significance (p <0. 05, r>0). The expression of PTTG may have positive correlation with lymph node metastasis of lung squamous cell cancinoma. The expression of PTTG in patients of I stage compares with the ones of II , III and IV. The results of two groups have statistical significance ( P < 0. 05 ). The correlation between PTTG and C - myc showed statistical significance (p <0.05, r >0).ConclusionsAs an oncogene, PTTG is related with lymph node metastasis and TNM staging, so to speaking, related with lung squamous cell cancinoma invasion and metastasis level. The high or positive expression of PTTG means lung squamous cell cancinoma processes severely. The expressions of PTTG show positive correlation with differentiation of C - myc which is an oncogene too, showing correlation with TNM staging. The study of correlation between PTTG and C ?myc showed they have a nice consideration and a strong correlation. PTTG may be an objective marker for pathologically biological behavior of lung squamous cell cancinomas. |
