Objective To investigate the relationship between the serum concentration changes of IL-2,IL-4 and the level of HBV DNA in HBV infection patients Methods People with normal hepatic function examination and anti-HCV antibodies negative in Guangxi were studied. They were divided by HBsAg and HBV DNA into 4 groups. (1)Group A: negative for HBsAg and HBV DNA. (2)Group B : negative for HBsAg but positive for HBV DNA.(3) Group C : positive for HBsAg and HBV DNA .(4)Group D: positive for HBsAg but negative for HBV DNA . HBV infection markers in serum and anti-HCV were detecded by ELISA, HBV DNA were analysed by FC-PCR, IL-2,IL-4 were measured by RIA, The hepatic function examinations were performed by the automatic analyzer. Results HBV DNA were positive in some patients with negative HBsAg. The serum concentrations of IL-2 showed significant differences between Group A and C,A and D, B and C, B and D (P<0.01). The serum concentrations of IL-2 showed no significant differences between Group A and B,C and D (P>0.05). The serum concentrations of IL-4 showed no significant differences among tow respective groups (P>0.05). The copies of HBV DNA showed no significant differences between Group B and C .The serum concentration changes of IL-2,IL-4 did not correlate with the copies of HBV DNA (P>.05) .Conclusion HBV DNA were positive in some patients with negative HBsAg. The serum concentrations of IL-2 and Il-4 were normal in the HBsAg negative and HBV DNA positive patients with normal hepatic function examination .The concentration changes of IL-2and IL-4 did not correlate with the level of HBV DNA .In the group of normal hepatic function examination, the serum concentrations of IL-2 correlates with positive HBsAg , however , it did not correlate with the level of HBV DNA . The correlation indexes were 0.0045 and 0.1613 between IL-2,IL-4 and HBV DNA respectively, there are no significant differences after correlation analysis.
