Objective To evaluate the role of Magnetic Resonance Enteroclysis (MRE) in the diagnosis of Crohn disease.Materials and Methods 20 cases of Crohn disease were done the MRE findings and conventional enteroclysis , then MRE findings were compared with findings of conventional enteroclysis and/or surgery. Results MRE and conventional enteroclysis were identical in 19 of 20 cases, other one patient of Crohn disease with fistula was diagnosed by MRE, butwas diagnosed for lymphoma by conventional enteroclysis. The coincidence rate of MRE and clinical diagnosis was 100%, but for conventional enteroclysis, the diagnostic rate was 95.0%. MRE and surgical findings were identical in 11 of 11 cases (100%), but conventional enteroclysis and surgical findings were identical in 10 cases (90.9%). Conclusions MRE is a valuable method in the diagnosis ofCrohn disease, especially for thecomplications.
