Objective The aim of this study was to detect the expression of Fas receptor in breast cancer tissue and discuss its clinical significance. Methods In order to contrast the difference of Fas expression in malignant tissue and normal tissue, we had analyzed the normal tissue surrounding the 24 examples mammary cancer tissue and 8 examples mammary inom by flow cytometry. We had measured the light dispersion and the data of fluorescence intensity of 10000 cells surface on the cells' surface. We had used computer to analyze the expression of Fas, the counting of infiltrative T lymphoid , the withered rate of rumor cells and the infiltrative T lymphocytes the withered rate of surrounding cells. Results Compared with the benign mammary tissue, the expression of Fas receptor on the mammary cancer cells' surface obviously decreased, the discrepancy is significant ;m the group of mammary cancer tissue which hadn't transferred to the lymph tissuein the armpit, the amount of cells which the expression of Fas is positive and the withered rate of cancer cells and the amount of the infiltrative T lymphocytes are obviously more than those in the group of mammary cancer tissue which had transferred to the lymph tissue in the armpit.. With the development of TNM clinical stage, the cells amount with the Fas receptor positive in mammary cancer tissue and the withered rate of the tissue cells and the amount of the infiltrative T lymphocytes all obviously decreased. The withered rate of the infiltrative T lymphocytes increased, and the discrepancy is significant. The cells amount with the Fas receptor positive in mammary cancer tissue is linear positive correlation with the amount of T lymphocytes and is linear negative correlation with the withered rate of T lymphocytes. Conclusions The expression of the Fas receptor on the surface of the mammary cancer cells is restrained and closely relative to the TNM stage and the transference of the lymphoid node. It hints that the expression of Fas is a biological index which can judge malignant degree of mammary cancer. It is also a reference of the mammary cancer's pathology study and clinical diagnosis andtreatment and the estimation of prognosis.
