AIM: to reveal the rule of variation which from the isoenzyme patterns and protein at development stages of Paragonimus heterotremus in rats. Method: The esterase(EST)that come from 5 stages is studied by concentration gradient polyacrylamide gel slab electrophoresis (CG-PAGSE)and anaylsed by America Bio-Red Gel Doc 2000 Quantity One gel image analysis system. So it is with the malate dehydrogenase(MDH),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and general protein(PT). Result: At stages 30d and 40d, 3 EST bands present, and at stages 50d , 60d and 80d, only 1 band present. The MDH electropherogram of 80d stage has 7 bands, and the other stages has 5 bands respectively. The bands which from MDH-3 to MDH-7 in every stage have the same relative mobilities, but their enzymatic activities and main bands are different. There are 5 types of LDH bands at 40d and 80d, but the bands of LDH5 are absent at other stages. The elder lung flukes are, the more ALP bands show. At stage 30d, 6 bands show, and at stage 80d, 15 bands show, for instance. The number of every stage's general protein bands is 22, 25, 18, 18 and 18 in order. Every stage has 1 main band but it's relative mobility is different. Conclusion: Some variations were detected in isoenzyme patterns and protein during fluke's development. They show growth polymorphism. The results can provide basic datum for the research of Paragonimus heterotremus's taxonomic, heredity, diagnosis, therapy and the mechanism of medicine.
