At present, the surface modification has become a main research field of Ti matrix biomedical materials. The aim of the surface modification is to improve the biocompatibility and bioactivity in the body environment. Because the surface configuration indirectly affects the biocompatibility and implanting effect of the implants, and bioactivity can improve the osteointegration of materials, the studys on morphological surface modification technology and surface bioactivation will offer a delightful application prospect for the development of biomaterials. In the study, bioactived surface micro-porous titanium/Ti matrix biomaterial was prepared by combining morphological surface modification technology with chemical treatment way, fabrication techniques and biomedical characteristics of the material were also systematically investigated.Low cost K2CO3 and TiO2 were used as raw materials to fabricate potassium titanate whiskers by reaction sintering method ameliorated . By SEM and XRD, the effects of K2CO3 and TiO2 ratio and reaction temperature and time on configuration, size and phase components of the whiskers were analyzed in this paper. In the end, the optimal fabrication techniques was confirmed, that is potassium tetratitanate whiskers prepared with K/T=1:3~4 and 900℃xlh and potassium hexatitanate whiskers prepared with K/T=1:5~6 and 1000℃ x 1h. TEM was used to analyze the microstructure, the result indicated that the high quality potassium titanate whiskers with good crystallinity and high output were gained.The surface of titanium matrix was modified with micro-pores by adopting special craft, which the pure titanium cladded with potassium titanate whiskers was calcined for a short time, then rapidly cooled , the surface micro-porous titanium was prepared by the special oxidizing delamination of the titanium. Micro-porous are various, which is obviously different from those morphologies gained by the other morphological surface modification technologies , and even distributing on the surface of Ti matrix, The surface roughness degree is about Sum. Titanium oxide was formed on the surface of micro-porous titanium after alkali treatment at low temperature. The networks of titanium oxide induced the deposition of hydroxyapatite in the body environment; this showed that bioactived micro-porous surfacehad good bioactivity.The corrosion resistance property, biocompatibility and bioactivity of the bioactive surface micro-porous titanium/Ti matrix biomaterial were evaluated by corrosion, the simulated body fluid cultivation and cell cultivation experiments. The results showed that the bioactived surface micro-porous titanium/Ti matrix biomaterial possessed superior corrosion resistance property, biocompatibility and bioactivity.
