Study On The Synthesis Of 1-Tetralone And Pyridazinone Derivatives

7-Methoxy-1-tetralone and 5,7-dimethoxy-1-tetralone were synthesised through Friedel-Crafts acylation,Huangminlon modified Wolf-Kishner reduction and Harwoth cyclization from methoxybenzene and 2,4-dimethoxybenzene in 71.4% and 61.2% yield respectively. The reaction between methoxybenzene and 1,4-lactone was examined and a new methodology for synthesis of 5,7-dimethoxy-1-tetralone was established. Furthermore, 6-(4-methoxy)-phenyl- 3(2H)-pyrridazinone was obtained from methoxybenzene in 80.1% yield, the process parameters were opimezed.
