Objective: To investigate the relationship between the androgen receptor(AR), oestrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) by assaying the distribution of those three receptors on both the BPH and Pca tissues, then to explore the difference of the effect of hormonal treatment between the AR positive and AR negative Pca patients. Methods: First to observe the AR, PR and ER expressed in 30 cases of BPH and 32 cases of Pca tissues through DAKO Envision methods, then combined the survival time of the ?ca patients accepted hormonal treatment to get the result. Results: There are 24 AR positive cases, 10 ER positive cases and 6 PR positive cases in 30 BPH patients, and there are 18 AR positive cases, 14 ER positive cases and 2 PR positive cases in 32 Pca patients. There is no significant difference between the two group (P>0.05). The survival time of the Pca patients expressed and not expressed AR is 6.41 and 4.28 years. The AR positive patients live longer than the AR negative patients (P<0.05).Conclusions: These three receptors can't result in Pca and the effect of hormonal treatment on AR negative Pca patients is not certain.
