Objective To investigate the mechanism that YIQI Tong Lin Chong is treats benign prostatic hyperlassia. Methods A total of 8 case of BPM. 24 casc of BPH influenced by YIQITONGLINCHONGJI and proscar were studied. The apoptosis status was detected by means of TUNEL and Immunohistochemistry. The expression was analysed using One-way AVONA. Kruskal-wallis Test and Nemenyi Test . Resulsts The apoptosis index(Al) difference of the group in the model with BPH to the groups treated by YIQITONGLINCHONGJI and prostcar was significant (p<0.01). while the diference of Ai and Bcl-2/Bax in the groups treated by high-dose of YIQITONGMNCHONGJI and trcared by proscar were not significant (P>0.05). The expression of Bcl-2 were higher in mode group than that of the group treated by high-dose of YIQITONGLINCHONGJI and proscar(p<0.05 p<0.01) respectively. The expression of Bax were higher in the group treated by proscar than that of the model group(p< 0.01). Conclusions (1) The stromal . epithelial tissues and volume of prostate with BPH treated by YIQITONGLINCHONGJI were decreased. (2)Promoting apoptosis was probably the mechanism of YIQITONGLINCHONGJI treating BPH. Bcl-2 and Rax genes play an important role in the regulation of prostatic apopitosis. (3) The result: of proscar to treat BPH was the effect of the expression of both Bcl-2 and Bax. (4)ihe difference that YIQITONGLINCHONGJI and proscar promote apopotosis of prostate cells was not significant.
