Purpose: To investigate the effects of renin-angiotensin- aldosterone system on cardiovascular tissue in simple obesity children. Material and Method: We random selected 31 simple obesity children and 31 normal children. Blood pressure(Bp), blood triglyceride(TG), cholesterol (Tch). High and low density lipoprotein (HDL,LDL), angiotensin II (AngII) and aldosterone (ALD) were measured. Left ventricular diastole diameter (LVDd), interventricular septum thickness (IVST), left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPWT) and Left ventricular mass (LVM) were also measured by UCG. The relationship between Ang II ,ALD and LVM were analysed. Result: The obesity group have higher Bp, TG, Tch , LDL, LVM, Angll and ALD (P<0.05). Angll and ALD both have linear correlation with LVM, the correlation coefficient was 0.3932, 0.5846 resceptively (P<0.05). The regression equation was Y = 38.3259+0.7173X, Y=36.3517+0.7067X resceptively. Conclusion: Simple obesity children have higher Bp than normal children and have dyslipoidosis. RAAS is activated in obesity children . Moreover it is an independent predictor of left ventricular hypertrophy.
