| DYNAMIC CHANGE AND EXPRESSION OF MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASE-9 IN MYOCARDIUM OF EXPERIMENTAL ALCOHOLIC CARDIOMYOPATHY IN RATSObjective: To evaluate the dynamic change of collagen structure and expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in myocardium of alcoholic cardiomyopathy in rats.Methods: Alcoholic cardiomyopathy model in rats was established by gavage. Histology technique included HE stain and Masson stain. Then picture quantitative analysis technique was used to analyze the change of collagen structure and quantity. The expression of MMP-9 was studied by immunohistochemistry, and the result was analyzed by picture quantitative analysis technique.Results: By immunohistochemistry, the expression ,of MMP-9 was accordingly higher in rats of model group than that of control group (p<0.05). The levelof MMP-9 increased gradually with the progress of alcoholiccardiomyopathy. By immunohistochemistry, immunoreactive MMP-9 was observed in perivascular lesions and thickened intima and media. The quantity of collagen in myocardial interstitium and perivascular lesions increased with the progress of alcoholic cardiomyopathy.Conclusion: The quantity and structure of collagen changed andMMP-9 increased with the progress of alcoholic cardiomyopathy, Theymight be involved in the development of alcoholic cardiomyopathy. |
