objective: To explore the therapeutic mechanisms, clinical efficacy and effect on GUH (quality of ulcer healing) of point embedding therapy treating on peptic ulcer. Methods: 90 cases of peptic ulcer patients were randomly assigned to three groups (embedding therapy group, acupuncture therapy group and medicine group). Comparative study was made based on clinical symptom efficacy, gastric endoscope efficacy, eradication rate of HP and recur rate of ulcer. Results:There is no significant difference between the above groups in respect of clinical efficacy, gastric endoscope efficacy, eradication rate of HP(p>0.05); embedding therapy group is superior to medicine group in the shrink of the ulcer size after treatment(p<0.05); the ulcer's recur rates of acupuncture andembedding groups are significantly lower than that of medicine group ten months later(p<0.05). Conclusion:It suggested that embedding therapy can not only promptly release the patients' clinical symptom and shrink the size of ulcer, but also remarkablely improve the quality of ulcer healing. The mechanism may depend on embedding therapy can enhance body's immunity, protect gastric mucosa, improve local micro circulation and eradicate HP Meanwhile, the adverse effect of embedding therapy group is much less than that of medicine group which means that embedding therapy is safe.
