Bone graft is effective method in treating lots of end-stage bone disease. When accepted area needs extensive bone, Bone graft in blind can meet the clinical need and so to resulting graft failure. The key reason of operation failure is due to mismatch between host bone and recipient area. Iliac bone is the ideal area of bone graft, it is vital to evaluate the iliac bone before operation with the development of CT, it is possible for precise evaluating iliac bone. So far there is no report about this. The purpose of this study is to measure the thickness, curve, available extension and location and provide accurate and effective data for clinician. It is include two parts as following: 1.The application of low-dose in pelvic bone scan, To analyze the influence of different scan dose to explore the optimal scan dose. 2.Measure and compare thelength, depth and cure of iliac bone to make use of the range of the iliac in bone graft.Part I The study of low-dose in pelvic bone scanObjective: TO study the minimal dose of CT at the condition of good image quality.Materials and methods: All of the volunteers were scanned on 200mA, 100mA, 50mA, 25mA, the others scan parameters are same. All of the data were post processed on GE Advantage Windows 4.0 workstation using 2D and 3D technique. We evaluate the clearly degree of iliac cortex to study minimal low dose. Results: The group of image with parameters of 10mmx4/11.25mm, HQ, 50% relapse reconstruction rate and bone reconstruction. Conclusion: The pelvic bone scan with 50mA is minimal dose and can provide good image quality.Part II The application of multi-slice CT in iliac measurement Objective: To study the value of multi-slice CT in evaluating theiliac measurement before bone graft to provide the thickness curve, available location and effective information for clinician.Materials and method: Randomly selected 202 volunteers were performed pelvic bone scan on multi-slice CT. The extension is from superior margin of iliac crest to ischia tubercle. The scan parameters are HQ, 10x4mm/l 1.25mm. All of data was post-processed on GE advantage Windows 4.0 workstation. Measure the thickness, length, depth and curve of iliac bone. We use the SPSS 10.1 software to do the statistics. Results: 1.There is no statistically difference in iliac crest angle between male and female (P>0.05), male 117.59°±4.71°, female 116.03°±4.98°. 2.The anterior axial line of iliac crest in male is longer than female. There is great variant of iliac thickness in sex and individual and it has predominantly statistical difference of available bone between male and female (P<0.05). 3.There are great variant ofiliac thickness in different people, between male and female. In male the whole iliac crest were available for bone graft. 80mm, 60mm, 40mm, 30mm extension were available in the depth of 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm respectively. In female, 60mm, 50mm, 40mm, 30mm, 20mmextension were available in the depth of 0mm, 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm respectively. Although thickness at the level between 10-40mm of anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS). It can meet the clinical need and also relieve injuring lateral femoral cutaneous never (LFCN). In order to graft large extension bone, measuring the thickness of iliac bone can help prevent shortage of host bone, relive complication and keep successful graft. Conclusion: The evaluation of MSCT in iliac graft is first choice and can provide accurate data for clinician. It is vital to operate successfully, lesson complication and provide the thickness, curve, available location and effective information for clinician.
