| With the health care reform going on and the entry of WTO coming true, the competence of medical market has become more and more intense. As a result, it is necessary to insist on enhancing medical quality management. Our study researches on real-time control of the quality of Hospitalization Diagnosis and Treatment (HDT) based on Clinical Pathway (CP). It aims at exploring a better means of quality management, and improves the quality of HDT.At first, our study designs the framework of real-time control of the quality of HDT, and definitudes the general goal. Secondly, for the sake of perfecting the process standards, our study researches on mapping out CP. As an example, our study drafts a CP of senile cataract. Based on CP, the control points are selected and the criterions are found. By designing the real-time monitor and control system, our study puts forward the blue print of the real-time control of the quality of HDT, and the strategy of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) based on it.The conclusions are as follows: the implement of the real-time control of the quality of HDT depends on four aspects, such as process approach, continuous quality improvement and cybernetics, the standards, the computer-aid monitor and control system, and the involvement of all people. Secondly, it has many advantages to apply CP to the real-time control of the quality of HDT. CP can enhance the scientific property and implement of the real-time control of the quality of HDT. The key points are the support of peoples in hospital and cooperation in harmony of peoples coming from different specialty and different subject. When formulates the CP, some methods are instructional, such as, thegoal of standardization of diagnosis and treatment, EBM, the spirit of collaboration, process management, and et al. CP consists of the content, time, and the goal in phase of medical care. It has two editions, the doctor's and the patient's.
