With the rapid development of integrated circuit and computer technology and network, the application of electronic measurement technique has extended to more fields than ever, so the prevalence and rocketing development of personal computers give birth to a new kind of instrument, Virtual Instrument. VI is based on PC platform, and can make use of the software and hardware resources of a PC. Compared with its ability of data processing and flexibility, VI has a low price, which means VI is a good choice for research. Medical virtual instrument technique is a key technique in an interdisciplinary, hi the research and development of Medical virtual instrument, software and biomedical signal processing are two main techniques. Due to the applications of these techniques, Medical virtual instruments are becoming automated, digitized and intellectualized.For the above causes, with Lab VIEW techniques and a self-developed data acquisition card connected to PC, the author has devised successfully the sleep monitoring system based on the concept of VI. The system is able to measure ECG, heart rate, blood pressure, breath rate, body's temperature and oxygen saturation non-invasively, and the user can modify and extend the system's function according to their needs. This dissertation focuses on key techniques in data transmission, display and processing.In this dissertation , the author discusses how to develop a Lab VIEW instrument driver. The author's purpose is to establish a kind of Heart Rate Variability analysis system with Lab VIEW techniques. In this system, we can detect the heart rate variability and analysis it in the time and frequency domains. In this dissertation, the author also discusses a new approach to sleep analysis based on fuzzy prediction theory. This dissertation gives a general introduction to detection and processing of biologic signals with Lab VIEW techniques. The designed fuzzy measurement system has been applied to fuzzy prediction analysis of physiological signals.
