Objective: Interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β)is a marker of monocyte activation.lt has been proved that (IL-1β) can induce inflammation ,and has effects on coagulative / fibrinolytic system and platelet activating ,we hypothesized that if II-1 & was persistently espressed by monocyte ,it might play a role in the development of acute coronary syndrome.Accordingly, the objectives of the present study were to determine the level of (IL-1β)exhibited by monocytes from patients with acute coronary syndrom, and to investigate the relationship between the level of (IL-1β) and presentation of ACS,and the effect on thrombolysis .Methods: All of the patients were divided into two groups : AMI group and UAP group . The venous blood samples were obtained before anticoagulation and thrombolysis treatment at the attacking day.Il-1 P levels of monocytes expression were assayed by flow cytometry from 38 patients with acute myocardial infaction(AMI) and from 22 patients with unstable angina pectoris(UAP)and 20 normal controls. Activated pactiai thrombopilastin time (APTT), prothrombin time (PT), creatine kinase (CK) and isoenzyme of creatine kinase(CK-MB) were measured by routine test .D-dimer was measured by NycoCard Test Kit.Reasults: In AMI and UAP groups, the II-1 fl levels of monocytes expression were significantly higher than those in normal control subjects(P<0.001).In coronary artery recanalization group, the peak times of CK-MB were 12-14hours after the attacking time of AMI , and the plasma level of D-dimer was much higher than that in thrombolysis failure group, there were no significant difference in APTT and INR ,but the II-1 P level was significantly higher in the failure group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared to normal controls , patents with AMI or UAP has higher levels of II-1 fi exhibited by monocytes, which indicate the potential roles played by II-1 & in acute coronary artery syndrome.lt may contribute to the pathogenesis of unstable plaque rupture and embolization, and it may also affect the thrombolysis treatment in AMI.
