Liver fibrosis is the common pathological foundation when all the chronic hepatic diseases deteriorate more The characteristic change is disequilibrium between formation and degradation of ECM ,with the result that ECM deposites more and shapes the fibrosis .At the same time which cause the hepatic lobule rebuild , the fake lobule and nodes form .Cirrhosis is the last phase The medical researchers pay more attention to the prevention and therapy of this disease because liver fibrosis is the important phrase when pathological changes shift from reversibility to irreversibility .In recent years, the research of liver fibrosismakes much progress in these aspects, such as pathogenesis > diagnosis in earlier period - prevention - therapy and so on.In TCM ,liver fibrosis is included in the categories of "Ji ju","Xie tong", "Huang dan" ,etc. The pathogenic factors that the wet heat and poison attackthe liver and stay there cause the stagnation of Qi and blood .Chinese medicine such as promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis has much potential in curing the liver fibrosis. A lot of researches report the Chinese medicine includesingle drug and compound drugs. Among these drugs salvia miltiorrhiza have definite curative effect in preventing and deteriorating liver fibrosis and have been used widely. But until now .there is no report about the relation between the dose of salvia miltiorrhiza and the curative effect. The research just aims at this. The various doses of salvia miltiorrhiza are selected as the observing drugs .We do this research in the animal experiment and clinical observation and hope to give the guidance on clinical medication.Experimental research Aim: To investigate the effect of the various doses treatment groups of salvia miltiorrhiza on liver fibrosis (LF) induced with CCI4.Method: The treatment groups of salvia miltiorrhiza were divided into high doses group, medium doses group and low doses group. The different doses treatment groups were compared with model group and control group, and the three treatment groups compare the effect with each other. Serum level ofalanine aminotransferase(ALT);AST;albumin; HA;IVC;PCIII and pathological changes of hepatic tissues were analyzed. Results : serum level of ALT. AST HA.WC.PCffi in the treatment groups were obviously lower than model group andthe pathological results under microscope were much better than model group. The effect of high doses group was similar to the medium doses group and these two groups were much better than the low doses group of treatment. Conclusion: The results showed that the effect of high and medium doses groups were better than the low doses group.Clinical observation: Method: The patients in the clinical observation come from the clinic service and the patients who are in hospital(both the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou Uni. Of T.C.M. and Chinese medical hospital of Shengzheng). They all have been diagnosed as liver fibrosis due to chronic hepatitis B and characterized with the symptom of the stagnation of blood. The 64 patients are divided into high doses group, medium doses group : low doses group and control group. The three different doses groups are used the different doses salvia miltiorrhiza to cure ,but the control group doesn't use.One course of treatment is forty five days. Serum level of alanineaminotransferase(ALT);AST;albumin; HA;rVC;PCin and symptom are analyzed. Results : serum level of ALT.AST. HA.TVC.PCffl in the treatment groups wereobviously lower than model group. The effect of high doses group was much better than the medium group and the low doses group of treatment. The effect of medium dose group was similar to the low dose group. Conclusion : The results showed that the effect of high dose groups were better than the medium dose group and the low doses group.
