A Study On The Effects Of Family Environment On Behavior Problems In 4-5-Year-Old Children

Objective: To elucidate the effects of family environment on behavior problems and various behavior factors in 4-5-year-old children . Methods: Behavior problems & family environment of 600 children aged 4-5 years old were investigated with Family General Environment Questionnaire, Family Environment Scale-Chinese Version(FES-CV) & Achenbach Child Behavior Check list(CBCL). Multiple regression analyses were performed by SPSS Software after classifying according to sexual distinction. Various family characteristics were used as independent variables & various behavior factors of behavior problems in children aged 4-5 years old as dependent variables(Retreating Method).Results: (1)The occurrence rate of behavior problems in children is 23.00%-the male children 28.57 % & the female children 17.39 %. The difference has a remarkable significance(p<0.01); (2)Between general environment and children behavior & its factors ,for male children, father's profession influences total of children behavior, social withdrawal, immaturity, sexual behavior, schizoid behavior and attack; parents' healthy condition influences total of children behavior, social withdrawal, immaturity, depression and schizoid behavior; mother's profession influences body complaint, depression, schizoid behavior and violation; family structure influences body complaint, immaturity, sexual behavior and schizoid behavior; main tenders of children influence social withdrawal,, depression, sexual behavior and schizoid behavior; economic investment influences depression and sexual behavior. For female children, father's profession influences total of children behavior, depression, schizoid behavior, sexual problems, social withdrawal, strain behavior, attack and restless behavior; main tenders of children before 3 years old influence schizoid behavior, sexual problems, social withdrawal, strain behavior, attack and restless behavior; parents' healthy condition influences social withdrawal , sexual problems and strain behavior; family structure influences social withdrawal and restless behavior; economic investment influences social withdrawal and restless behavior; and mother's profession influences sexual problems. In the study, family economic income, living conditions and parents' educational level don't have remarkable influence to male or female children aged 4-5years old. (3)Between psyche environment and children behavior & its factors, for male children, cohesion influences total of children behavior, social withdrawal.body complaint, depression, immaturity, sexual behavior, schizoid behavior and violation;intellectual-cultural orientation influences total of children behavior, social withdrawal, body complaint, depression, immaturity, sexual behavior, schizoid behavior and attack; conflict influences total of children behavior, immaturity, attack and violation; organization influences social withdrawal , body complaint, depression and attack; achievement orientation influences depression and schizoid behavior; control and active-recreational orientation haven't shown any influence to male children aged 4-5 on total of children behavior and its factors. For female children, intellectual-cultural orientation influences total of children behavior, depression, body complaint, schizoid behavior, recoil, sexual behavior, strain behavior, attack and restless behavior; conflict influences grand total of children behavior, depression, body complaint, schizoid behavior, social withdrawal, strain behavior, attack and restless behavior; organization influences grand total of children behavior, depression, recoil, sexual behavior, strain behavior and restless behavior; achievement orientation influences sexual behavior and strain behavior; active-recreational orientation influences sexual behavior and strain behavior; control hasn't shown any influence to female children aged 4-5 years old on behavior problems.
