The object of this study is that it can provide the foundation from macroscopic aspect for air-force leading department about body type characteristic of active service aircrewmen and direct to select pilots, exercise and collocate meals.This study is composed of four parts:1. ReviewThis part includes distributing trend of body type, anthropometry and anthropometric skills, effect of body type to physical fitness and evaluation of body type index, and applications of anthropomety at aerospace ergonomics.2. Distribution of body type of Chinese aircrewmenMethods: 28 items of!739 male aircrewmen are measured, including stature, body weight, sitting height, thigh length, calf length, upper limb length, upper arm length, Forearm length, shoulder breadth, chest breadth, waist breadth, Breadth between iliac crest, hip breadth, chest depth, waist depth, abdomen depth, Sagittal diameter of upper trunk, Sagittal diameter of chest, Sagittal diameter of pelvis, Chest circumference, Waist circumference, Abdomen circumference, Hip circumference, Upper arm circumference, Fore arm circumference, Thigh circumference, and Calf circumference. The results of measure are compared with 1970s'. 18 body type indexes are calculated. By factor analysis, 28 anthropometric measures are attributed to 3 factors and 18 body type indexes are attributed to 5 factors. At last vervacck index, stature and Matins' trunk leg length index within fat factor, length factor and trunk limbs ratio factor are chosen. Distribution of 1 739 Chinese male aircrewmen's body type is presented after 3 items synthesized, and standards of evaluation are made out. Body types of different ages, areas and planes are contrasted. By discriminant analysis, functions in mathematics about pilots of fighter plane and transporter plane are worked out.Results: Vervacck index and stature of different age groups are very significantly different (p<0.01); Vervacck index and stature of different area groups are very significantly different (p<0.01), and Martins' trunk leg length index is significantly different (p<0.05); Vervacck index and stature of different plane groups are very significantly different (p<0.01). Functions in mathematics of discriminant analysis about pilots of fighter plane and transporter plane are: F(fighter)= 1. 201 X upper limb length-0.388 X forearm length+4.983 X Martins' trunk leg length index + 3 3. 999 X stature shoulder breadth index -990.933, F(transporter)=1.218 X upper limb length - 0.372 X forearm length + 4.907 X Martins' trunk leg length index + 33.999 X stature shoulder breadth index -994.430,3.Distribution of body composition of aircrewmen and relationship withbody typeMethods: After choosing 666 men of 1739 aircrewmen, we measured 7 skinfolds of body including skinfold of subscapularis, skinfold of abdomen, skinfold of triceps brachii, skinfold of forearm, skinfold of iliac crest, skinfold of quadriceps femoris and skinfold of calf. Calculate body fat percent and lean body mass by formula. Compare difference of body composition of different ages, areas and planes. In accordance with standards o of USAF about selecting pilots, calculate cases of over standards of Chinese pilots. Relationship of body composition to anthropometric measures and effect to body type is emphasizedResults: The aircrewmen of over body fat percent standards are 70 in total 666 men and obesity ratio is 10.51%. With age increasing, obesity ratio increases, too; Obesity ratio order of all areas is Southern China, Center China, Northeast and Northern China, Southwest, Southeast, Northwest. Obesity ratio order of All planes is bomber, transporter, fighter, helicopter. Values of r about vervacck to BF% and LBM are 0.754 and 0.682; Values of r about chest depth to skinfold of subscapularis, abdomen to skinfold of abdomen, breadth between iliac crests to skinfold of iliac creast, upper arm circumference to skinfold of triceps brachii, forearm circumference to skinfold of forearm, thigh circumference to skinfold of quadriceps femoris and calf cir...
