Objective: To provide experimental basis for clinical application through studying on the biocompatibility and security of homemade calcium phosphate cement.Method: We immerse homemade CPC into physiological saline and culture fluid to acquire exaction. MTT assay was evaluate the cytotoxicity of materials. FCM was used to survey the effect of homemade CPC on cell circle and DNA polyploid and bcl-2 gene impress. The way of Ames test was putting salmorella bacterium into culture vessels. In microkernel test, we injected CPC physiological saline extraction in mouse abdominal cavity, then get sternum marrow to observe the microkernel count of eosinophil. Spectrophtometer assay was selected in hemolysis test. Implant test was done after through implanting homemade CPC in rabbit's muscle and bone defect.Result: The cytotoxicity of homemade CPC was I grade. The cell circle and DNA polyploid and bcl-2 gene impress of every group were nodifference. Ames test and microkernel test were negative. The hemolysis rate of homemade CPC was below 5 percent. Implant test indicated that ambient tissue had no inflammatory reaction and there was biological cohesion between materials and bone.Conclusion: According to the tests, we believe that homemade CPC have no cytotoxicity , no carcinogen and mutation, no hemolysis, no inflammatory reaction, and have good tissue biocompatibility. All these results accord with the standards of biomaterials. So we can say that homemade CPC have better biocompatibility and security . It is a promising material as a bone substitute.
