| Objective: To investigte the influence of RenShenBaihu Based Decoction on ALLOXAN-induced diabetes mellitus, and provided data for ftirther study and clinical practice. Methods: All male rats were given peritoneal injection with ALLOXAN to induce diabetes mellitus, and were randomly divided into four groups. The rats Ireated with RSBHBD(given RSBHBD by tansgastric approach) were divided into two sub-groups: large dose RSBHBD-treated group and small dose RSBI-LBD-treated group. Some rats were administered phenethyldiguanide as control. All rats were killed 15 days after baseline to measure blood-glucose, C- peptide, total cholesterol, triglyceride, serum 1gM and lgG, and wet weight of Spleen. Results: 1. Compared with control group, the level of blood-glucose decreased significantly, but there was no significant difference between RSBHIBD-treated groups and control group in level of C-peptide both under fasting condifion and 2 hours after glucose stimulation.The ratio of C-peptide and blood-glucose in large dose RSBL-IBD-treated group was higher than that in control group (P |
