Objective To study the relationship between intrahepatic vascular diseases, endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and hepatitis B (HB).Methods Selected liver tissues of 300 cases of patients with HB (including 50 cases of acute HB, chronic HB Gl to G4 and liver cirrhosis respectively) and 52 cases of SD rats (including 40 cases induced by CCI4 and 12 cases of normal rats) during 2, 5, 8 and l2wk. And performed: ?Animal experiment ?Biopsy follow-up study and stereological analysis; 瓾istochemical staining: stained collagenous, reticular and elastic fibers in liver tissues; ~4I~Immunohistochemical staining: stained on liver tissues with fibronectin (FN), laminin (LN), JV-collagen (TV-Ca), smooth muscle acti~1 (a-SMA) and VEGF monoclonal antibodies. ~Quantitively detected the concentration of VEGF in sera of partial (75 cases) patients with HB by enzyme-linked imniunosorbent analysis (ELISA).Results 甀ntrahepatic vascular diseases, liver tissues diseases and the expressions of VEGF were different in different time of experiment induced by CC14. In earlier periods (2 to Swk) of rats?liver tissues induced by CC14, the inflammatory was significant. Fatting degeneration was seen in hepatocytes around central veins and part of small vesells. Hepatocytes which expressed VEGF positively mainly distributed in fatting areas. While in later periods (8 to I 2wk), the liver tissue inflammatory was light, but diseases in hepatocytes were significant. And vascular destruction, vascular and myofibroblast proliferation were significant. Local fibrous scars could be seen. Sinusoids in pseudolobules dilated or capillarized, and VEGF in them was positive. ~The degeneration, necrosis in hepatocytes of HB were closely related with disorder of hepatic blood supply which induced by intrahepatic vascular diseases. The intrahepatic vascular diseases were vascular inflammatory, obstruction, destruction, proliferation and sinusoidal stenosis, obstruction, dilation and capillarization. They transfixed the whole progress of HB and played an important role. 甀t was close of the relationship between the expression of VEGF on liver tissues, changes of serum VEGF concentrations of HB and grading (G), staging (S) and vascular diseases of hepatitis. In acute HB, VEGF was difusely strongly positively expressed, the serum VEGF concentration was significantly increased (P
