Abstract/Summary:
Based on the technique of infrared image formation, the meridian course over the human body surface has been successfully displayed. In order to clarify the mechanism of the phenomenon, the infrared radiant tracks along meridian(IRRTM) of Three Ying Meridian of Hand of 22 healthy volunteers were observed with Thermal Tracer when the skin along meridian and the neighboring non-meridian area were heated simultaneously. The results are as follows: 1. IRRTM over human body surface could be observed tinder nature condition, and could also initiated by heating. 2. The increase of skin temperature along meridian was more markedly than non-meridian area during heating. Finally, 3 IRRTMs coincided with that of the classical Three Ying Meridian of Hand appeared. 3. The velocity of spread of increasing temperature along meridians was similar to that of PSC. 4. The intensity of infrared radiation is higher along meridian than non-meridian area. The above results suggest that JRRTM is really an inherent biological phenomenon and has its own mechanism. Thermal conductivity of the related tissues along meridian is better than that of non-meridian area. This seems to be an important factor resulted in its formation. Meridian may be a form of channel related to the transfer and transmission of material, energy and signal in the regulation of function of the human body.
