A rabbit model of trauma-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)was established with the impactor and by injected limited lipopolysaccharide(LPS).The result show that, using a free-drop impactor equipment with impacthammer whose weigh was 2.5kg and height was 1.1m can established a rabbit modelof isolabo lung contusion with no complications like rib fracture and haemothoraxpheumothoracx. We can developed a rabbit model of trauma-inducedARDS,comparable physiologically and histologtally to human ARDS by injectedLPS.We observed the correlation between the dynamic change of the serumconcentration of NOS and hemodynamics index, found the serum concentration ofNOS was depressed observably after lung contused and NOS was actived and arrivedpeak at 24h after injected LPS.L-arigin(L-Arg) can improve hemodynamics index andthe lung wet/dry index in lung contusion phase; Aminoguanidine can improvehemodyamics index and the lung wet/dry index obviously in ARDSphase. Conclusion: NOS may play a key role in pathogenisis and progress ofpulmonary edema in ARDS.
