Experimental Studies Of The ET-1 Concentraion Changes Of Serum And Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid After Isolated Pulmonary Contusion And The Effect Of Verapamil On ET-1 Concentration

Anesthetized rabbits were exposed to blunt impact on the rightchest by fluid percussion device in order to producing isolatedlung contusion model. No complications as rib fructure andhaemothorax pheumothorax were found on the rabbits. The rabbitswere divided into 4 groups:control group, isolated lung contusiongroup, verapanil group. The varity of serum ET-1 concentration in24h was measured, animals were excuted after 24h, macroscopic andhistopathological examinations were perfomd and some lungspecimens indexea were measured, the indexes included: lung wet\dryweight radio, ET-1 concentration neutrophils and protein contentin the pulmonary alveolar lavage fluid (BALF). After lung contusionthe serum concentration of ET-l began to arise within 2h, arisedpeak at 6h, and didn't return to normal concentration at 24h. Thelung wet\dry weight radio and other lung specimens indexesincreased also. The injury and blood cellular infiltration in thepulmonary stroma and alveoli were found in histopathologicalexanination. When verapanil was applied on injured rabbits aftercontusion, the ET-1 concentration in serum decreasedsignificantly, the indexes of lung specimens decreased also,. butthey were higher than those in the control animals. Thehistopathological changes of pulmonary tissue were lighter thanthe changes of isolated lung contusion. It suggested the serumconcentration of ET--l was a important marker of tissue daJnage ofpulmonary contusion, ver8PaJni1 can reduce the concentration ofET--l in both serim and BALF, it have a certain therapeutica1 effecton pu1monary contusion.
