| So-called immune privilege sites are defined as anatomical sites that possess different immune activity from other organs. These sites include eye, brain, liver, some endocrine organs and materal-fetal surface. Recent studies implied that many kinds of antigens that were injected into anterior chamber could induce down-regulation of systemic, cell-mediated immune responses, but keep normal Tc activity and non-complement-fixing antibody response. In 1980s, Streilein began to name this specific phenomenon as anterior chamber-associated immune deviation (ACAID). But it is not clear if this phenomenon exists in vitreous cavity (VC). Our research mainly observed whether VC inoculation of 0.5 %BSA could induce vitreous cavity-associated immune deviation (VCAID) and whether this phenomenon exists during normal pregnancy in rats. Moreover, we observed the structure change of thymus during pregnancy in rats.
