As modern water-saving irrigation technology and solar photovoltaic technology continuously developing, the use of photovoltaic driven by solar energy pumps has a broad application prospect in the arid and semiarid areas of irrigation, where is in the shortage of power, it is of great significance to save solar energy and water resources. This paper proposed a kind of water supply system of the micro-irrigation based on the photovoltaic cell and calculated the micro-irrigation water requirement, photovoltaic cell and pumps of the system. It was verified by related experiments. Finally, the paper introduced a single-chip microcomputer controlling program of the system after optimization, so as to make full use of solar energy and increase the water supply. The primary tasks in this paper are summarized below:(1) The development of modern water-saving irrigation technology and solar photovoltaic power generation technology has been introduced briefly. Through the research of independent photovoltaic system structure and type, the paper presented a kind of solar photovoltaic water supply system watered by DC diaphragm pump, and introduced the working principle and characteristics of DC diaphragm pump.(2) The structure and principle of photovoltaic cell was introduced and the primary characteristics of photovoltaic cell were analyzed. On this basis, the paper calculated the capacity of photovoltaic cell based on system's demand, and identified the best solar panel installation angle.(3) The system was detected by the suction test, the water supply performance test and the micro-sprinkler irrigation test. The results showed that the system had a good running status, even under the condition of low light radiation, the system can still supply water and the pump can work over 6 hours on sunny days. The low-pressure spray nozzle worked steadily with good atomization and the inserted micro sprinkler nozzle watered uniformly in the experiment, the effective sprinkling irrigation radius was up to 1.8m. In addition, the system composed of two different pumps which worked alternately can supply more water than the system composed of a single pump, and has a high efficiency.(4) To achieve high-efficiency utilization of solar energy, the running status of the optimized system was monitored timely by single-chip microcomputer. The microcontroller, optical radiation sensor, temperature sensor and other components required in the system were selected, and the control circuit and control flow were designed. The solar micro-irrigation water supply system controlled by single-chip microcomputer was established. The optimized system adopted the optical radiation sensor and temperature sensor to detect the meteorological conditions, and showed the results. Working time of the pump and light radiation preset values can also be artificially set in the system, which has high degree of automation.
