The descurainia sophia seeds are rich in flavone, sitosterin, cardiac glycoside, isothiocyanates, fat and oils and derivative of butylene sulfide, in which the flavonoids are instrumental in antioxidation, reducing blood pressure, blood sugar and blood fats. The fatty oil in the descurainia sophia seeds consist of fatty acids such as cetylic acid, oleic acid and alpha-linolenic that are helpful in improving the memory, empowering the brain, protecting the eyesight, resisting cancers, reducing blood fats and resisting aging.Extraction of the total flavone: measure the total flavone in the oil cake of the descurainia sophia seeds by means of colorimetry.
