Both reciprocal hybridizations between Pseudosciaena crocea and Nibea albiflora were carried out in labotary. The early biology performance of hybrid F1 was observed preliminarily, and the genetic relationships between the hybrids and their parents was studied by using AFLP technology. The results were summed up as follows:The average fertilization rate, hatching rate, 30-day-age survival rate of the hybrid offspring between Pseudosciaena crocea(♀)×Nibea albiflora(♂) (PN) was 38.73%, 76.90%, and 0.085%, respectively; while the fertilization rate, hatching rate, 30-day-age survival rate of he hybrid offspring between Nibea albiflora (♀)×Pseudosciaena crocea (♂) (NP) was 93.75%, 96.60%, and 0, respectively . The PN hybrids hatched out at 18h 47min post insemination while the hatching water temperature was kept at 26℃.The inheritance and segregation pattern of AFLP markers in the offspring of hybrid families (PN1, PN2 and NP) were investigated. Totally, 478, 448 and 456 fragments were detected in PN1, PN2 and NP by using 8 selective primer combinations, respectively. All of the female parent-specific bands (FSB), the male parent-specific bands(MSB) and the mutual bands(MuB) fragments were transmitted to the hybrid offspring. No non-parental bands were detected in PN1and NP, but 2 non-parental bands were detected in PN2. The results showed that the newly hatched fries, produced from the reciprocal hyrbidizatioin between Pseudosciaena crocea and Nibea albiflora, contained the genomes of both parents, but the genetic similarities between the fries and the female parent were a little higher than those between the fries and the male parent according to the calculated results. The inheritance and segregation pattern of AFLP markers in the 13-day-age offspring of PN2 were investigated. Totally, 206 fragments were detected by using 4 selective primer combinations. The FSB, MSB and MuB were 95, 70 and 42, respectively. Ninety-four FSB, 68 MSB and all of the MuB were transmitted to the hybrid offspring. These results suggested that the 13-day-age hybrid fries between Pseudosciaena Crocea♀and Nibea albiflora♂also contained the genomes of both parents. However, one out of 8 survival 8-month-age hybrid PN fishes contained most of the female-parent specific AFLP markers while only a few male-parent specific AFLP markers, suggest that it might be an allogygogenetic offspring.
