Growers have discovered that in long-term grape production, grafted seedlings are obviously superior to self-rooting seedlings. The high temperature and rainy weather conditions of Hunan province seriously hinder the development of grape seedlings.The second test,respectively, has researched plant survival rates,growth and fruit set,the phenological period and disease resistance, and other biological research-related properties in order to screen out those varieties of grape rootstocks which are suitable to the local growing conditions and good scion-rootstock combinational type,which will lay the theoretical foundation for the regional cultivation of grapes.The main research results are as follows:The findings of grape rootstock variety hard cuttage experiment indicated that: HuaJia N0.8 variety has a higher rate of rooting and survival than the other stock varieties.Spine Grape,V.adenoclada Hand.-Mazz stood out in the aspect of new sprout growth potential. During the research of phenological period, Spine Grape and Beida stage began the earliest.5BB,SO4,5C and High-resistant rootstock No.6 embryonic,these are powerful antifungal disease varieties of grape rootstocks, of which Spine Grape and V.adenoclada Hand.-Mazz grape are far more resistant than the other varieties to blackblain disease. They are also rare disease-resistant and breeding materials.On the contrary, Beda and 3309C behaved the worst in resisting fungal disease.Different scion combinations in research trials show that:Using the spine grapes and 5BB for anvil can obviously increase the leaf area of scion varieties, strengthen photosynthesis, be good for growing and bearing fruits,improve fruit quality, and strengthen resistance to fungal disease.The comprehensive performance of HuaJia No.8 anvil and all the experimental grafted varieties are good in survival rate, affinity, growth potential. But they improve fruit quality according to varieties,behave less prominently in resistance to fungus disease.Using rami glandulares grape for anvil can delay the scion varieties' phenology, reduce flower bud differentiation, debase fruit quality and decrease disease-resistant ability. However, compared with the above, the Beda anvil combination can shorten the phenological period relatively well, which makes scions bear fruit quickly.Under the same management conditions, different combinations of scion results show that:The followings are suitable scion combinations:Red Globe Grape/Spine Grape, Ruby seedless/Spine Grape, Manicure Finger/Beda, Pink Yadu honey/5BB, Pink Yadu honey/Beda.The research results for Table-grape grafting in different heights indicates that: The effect of low scion is best for scion survival rate, while high scion is beneficial for the flower bud differentiation, harvest and disease-resistant ability of scion varieties.
