This experiment studied the genetic diversity of 419 wild soybean and semi-wild soybean accessions in the eastern coastal areas of Hebei on three aspects that are morphological, isozyme and SSR molecular. Based on the analysis, the distribution of genetic diversity of the accessions in the eastern coastal areas of Hebei Province was made clear. The main results were as follow:1. The distribution of wild soybean in eastern coastal area of Hebei Province is extremely broad, from Gold Coast of Changli to Tanghai County. The wild soybean accessions in the saline flats of Changli and Tang Hai coastal have strong tolerance to salt.2. This experiment analyzed 7 quality traits and 6 quantitative traits of 419 accessions. The stem color of the accessions is green or purple; there are three kinds of leaf that is ellipse, oval and lanceolate; the flower color is purple. The seeds of wild soybeans have characters as follow: black seed coat with mud film, brown or black hilum, kidney-shaped seeds, but there are mainly double color seed coat without mud, yellow hilum, and oval-shaped seeds in semi-wild soybeans. The mean of the quality traits' Simpson index and Shannon-weaver index are 0.2553 and 0.4535 respectively, and the mean of the quantitative traits' Simpson index and Shannon-weaver index are 0.7751 and 1.457 respectively, indicated that the quantitative traits showed more abundant genetic diversity.3. The peroxidase (POD) isozymes of 419 wild soybean and semi-wild soybean materials were analyzed. The result showed that there are 96 zymogram types, which is closely related to the years and sites of collection. The number of the enzyme bands varied from 1to11. The enzyme bands Rf0.03, Rf0.05, Rf0.10, Rf0.15, Rf0.39 and Rf0.61 are basic bands.4. The genetic diversity of 419 accessions was evaluated based on the variation at 27 SSR loci which were selected from 83 SSR loci. 213 alleles were found in total, with each locus having a mean of 7.89 alleles; the mean value of Simpson index was 0.7072 and the mean value of Shannon-weaver index was 1.4965.5. The cluster analysis showed that the wild soybean and semi-wild soybean are divided into two categories obviously. The accessions collected from the regions near the coastline are different from that collected from the interior regions. And there are genetic variations in the internal group too.6. Semi-wild soybean and wild soybean were clearly separated by morphological, isozyme and SSR molecular. SSR markers revealed more extensive genetic diversity than the other aspects.
