Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences form September 2008 to June 2009. The main objective wasto study the influence of nitrogen (N) irrigation and chemical control on the yield and quality in wheat(Triticum aestivum L).The experiments were included two components: The first one was two-factorrandomized blocks experiment with Jimai20cultivars. The effects of N and irrigation on yield andquality in strong gluten wheat Jimai20 were studied. The second one was split-plot experiment withZhongren1.The effects of N and chemical control on yield and quality were studied. The results wereshown as follows:1.Water and nitrogen are two most important majors affecting wheat yield and quality. We studiedthe effects of water and nitrogen on yield and protein quality in strong gluten wheat jimai20.The resultsshowed that the flowering water could suppress chlorophyll and nitrogen's degrading, prolong thefunctional stage of flag and increase grain yield. It was highest of the grain yield that irrigating 3 times(B4) at spring, but no significant difference to B2. It was not good for grain quality improvement ofincreasing filling water. In order to improve both the yield and quality, we can save the turning andfilling water, irrigating at the stage of jointing and flowering.Grain yield,1000-grain weight, test weightand No. of grains per spike were higher under the conditions of applying 180 kg N/ha than that ofapplying 270 kg N/ha, especially significantly effecting the No. of grains per spike. However it wasbeneficial to improve the storage protein and processing quality of increasing N application.2. The effects of plant growth regulator on wheat had widely reported, but most of the studiesfocused on the yield and its component.there were less studies on wheat quality,so we designed thisexperiment. In the field conditions we designed two factors studied nitrogen and chemical. The resultsshowed that chemical control and nitrogen treatment was propitious to adjust the protein componentsand the processing quality. The study showed that compared with 180 kg N/hm2,270kg N/hm2significantly increased albumin, dry and wet gluten content and flour water absorption, but it wasunconductive to the improvement of the globulin and gliadin content, with more nitrogenapplied;Compared with the contrast, there were positive effects toward to the protein components andprocessing quality spraying wheat growth regulator maijujin at setting stage,in which the effects onalbumin, wet and dry gluten content and water absorption were significant.Spraying ethephon wateragent could improve rheology. There were some positive effects on the sedimentation value and waterabsorption of spraying poly-AA sylvite at setting stage.
