Regions along Huaihe River is located in the transition zone of warm temperate zone and subtropics zones, which is the area of flood disaster takes place frequently. Floods not only make people's property suffer disastrous losses but also disrupt normal life and production, that seriously affects the construction and economic development. The flood of this area was mainly due to heavy rainfall during the plum period. The length of the plum period and the number of the plum rains amount directly affect the formation of droughts and floods. According to the characteristic of forming flood easily in the rainy season and in order to develop canopy vegetable in the area in the no flood season, the varietal characteristics of precipitation along Huaihe River in Anhui province, the characteristics of flood disaster, agricultural climate characteristic of canopy vegetable flood-avoiding cropping, varietal characteristics of agricultural heat resource and characteristics of vegetable canopy radiation temperature resource in the no flood season are analyzed with emphasis, the effect mechanism canopy vegetable avoiding flood and the cultivation mode are discussed in the regions along Huaihe River in Anhui province. The findings may expand ideas of developing canopy vegetable in the agricultural flood-prone areas in the no flood season, but also can provide the technical pattern for the countryside canopy vegetable to avoid flood, reduce disaster and the highly effective cultivation.The main results as fellows:1. The change characteristics of precipitation: taking Bengbu as example, the summer precipitation is biggest, accounts for 54% of the annual precipitation; the winter is smallest, only accounts for 7% of the annual precipitation along Huaihe river in Anhui province. The average monthly precipitation presents an obvious unimodal trend.2. The characteristics of flood disaster in the regions: the direct economic loss, the agricultural economy loss and the disaster area of floods present upward trend. The average disaster area is 29511.0 hm2 over the years. Funan station is biggest, Bengbu station is smallest in disaster area. Every station from west to east presents an"W"trend of"down—up—down—up"in the regions along Huaihe river in Anhui province.3. The change characteristics of heat resource: taking Bengbu as example, the change of the annual average temperature and seasonal average temperature have analyzed in recent 57 years in the regions along Huaihe river in Anhui province, the results are an increase trend. The cumulative temperature of no flood season are 2900℃~3500℃, and the average cumulative temperature is 3207.8℃. There is a fluctuation increasing trend between the cumulative temperature of no flood season and the five-year sliding average value over the year in Benbu station.4. The variability characteristics of agricultural heat resource: the first day, the end day and the cumulative temperature of more than 10℃have analyzed during past years in Bengbu station along Huaihe river, the results found the first day of more than 10℃came earlier, the end day came late, the period is prolonged gradually. There is a fluctuation increasing trend between of more than 10℃and the five-year sliding average value over the year in Bengbu station.5. The characteristics of vegetable canopy radiation temperature resource in the no flood season: the change of indoor temperature and its outdoor temperature are synchronous during the daytime. The inside temperature is higher than the outdoor temperature. The temperature diurnalvariation extent is different for the canopy of different materials: spring, fat dragon greenhouse > steel arching plastic house (double-layer films) >steel big plastic house (old, single-layer film) > Outdoor; winter, steel big plastic house (new, single-layer film) > steel arching plastic house (double-layer films) > Outdoor. The temperature diurnalvariation of indoor and outdoor is a unimodal curve on sunny days. The temperature is drop slowly at night in the plastic house. The lowest temperature appears in the morning about 7:00. The intensity of illumination of indoors are weaker than its outdoor.6. The vegetable cultivation mode of avoiding flood, reducing disaster and high-efficiency along Huaihe river in Anhui province:①The cultivation mode of double-layer films plastic house: (autumn) tomato - (spring) hot pepper; (autumn) tomato - (spring) celery - (spring) cucumber.②The cultivation mode of single-layer film plastic house: (autumn) hot pepper - (spring) celery - amaranth; (autumn) celery - (spring) Chinese cabbage - (spring) cucumber; (autumn) tomato - (spring) celery - (spring) Chinese cabbage - purslane; (autumn) cucumber - (spring) hot pepper - (spring) cucumber. The common point of these modes is to make use of the last ten-day period of a month in August till the middle ten days of a month in the next year May in the no flood season for cultivating canopy vegetable, in order to achieve avoiding flood, reducing disaster, high yield and abundant harvest.
