A total of 480 14-year-old healthy cherry valley ducks were randomly divided into 3 treatments, with 6 replicates, 20 ducks for each replicates. Birds were fed on corn-soybean basal diets. The 3 treatments were: (1) 16% canola; (2) 16% Indian mustard meal; (3) 16%Indian mustard meal + organic selenium (0.3mg/kg). This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of canola and Indian mustard meal on production performance, meat quality and T3, T4. The results shows that: appending 16% canola and 16% Indian mustard meal into birds fed, restrained the production performance, but there are no significant effects on two test groups (P>0.05). there was no significant effects on quality of acetone body (P>0.05). Compared with corn-soybean meal, canola and Indian mustard meal could improve muscle L*, decline a* and b*, but there were no significant effects on any groups (P>0.05). Indian mustard meal and canola meal could keep pH of muscle (P>0.05). There were very significantly effects on increasing content of T3 with canola meal and Indian mustard meal compared with corn soybean meal (P<0.01). Canola meal could decrease the content of T4(0.010.05). Canola meal could decrease the ratio of T4 and T3 significantly(0.010.05). Adding Se as organic selenium just could improve drip loss of muscle.
