Study On Effect And Mechanism Of Chinese Medicine On Growth And Immune Performance Of Finishing Pigs

An experiment was conducted to examine the effects of compound Chinese medicine preparations on the growth performance and diarrhea rates,cell immunity, humoral immunity,intestines immunity,gut structure,serum biochemical indicator levels.In order to study the mechanism of compound Chinese medicine preparations on pigs,60 crossed finishing pigs (D×L×Y) with an average bodyweight of 45 kg were randomly allotted to three groups by the similar weight and age .The pigs in group ? (the control group)were fed basal diet; the pigs in group.were fed the diet plus 1% compound traditiona Chinese medicine preparations;The pigs in group were fed the diet plus 2% compound traditional Chinese medicine preparations.The trial was conducted for 60 d.Body absolute weights(AW), average daily gain (ADG)and average daily feed intake (ADFI)and diarrhea rates in all pigs were determined on 0,30,60d. Blood samples in thirty (10 per Group) of sixty pigs were taken from the anterior vena cava on 0,30,60 d for measuring serum lymphocyte transformation rates, white blood cell phagocytosis rates,immunoglobulin levels and serum biochemical indicator levels. At the end of the trial, 9 pigs (3 per Group) were bled via the anterior vena cava. The proximal duodenum, 1/4 proximal jejunum, 1/4 distal jejunum and middle ileum were recollected and stored in 10% formalin solution immediately for preparing tissues section and measuring the structure of mucous epithelium,the number of intraepithelial lymphocyte and the goblet cells.The small intestines of freshly slaughtered pigs were dissected out from the beginning of the jejunum to the ileo-caecal sphincter.The results were as follows:(1)Compared with the control group, the Chinese medicine preparations can significantly increase the growth performance.Compared with the Control Group, AW of pigs in Group III enhanced significantly on 60 d (P<0.01)and in Group II(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference(P>0.05) 30d of the trial.(2) Compared with the control group, the Chinese medicine preparations can increase the content of lymphocyte transformation rate。Compared with with the Control Group,lymphocyte transformation rates of pigs enhanced significantly on 60d(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference(P>0.05) 30d of the trial.(3) Compared with the control group, the Chinese medicine preparations can increase the white blood cell phagocytosis rates of pigs.Compared with the Control Group, white blood cell phagocytosis rates of pigs in the Group II,III is no significant difference on 30d(P>0.05).But white blood cell phagocytosis rates in the Group III enhanced 10% more than the control Group .White blood cell phagocytosis rates of pigs in Group II,III on 60 d were significantly higher than the Control Group(P<0.05).(4) The Chinese medicine preparations can significantly enhance immunoglobulin levels of pigs.On the trial 30d,compared with with the Control Group, serum IgA levels of pigs in Group II enhanced ignificantly (P<0.01)and Group III enhanced significantly(P<0.05), serum IgG in the Group III enhanced significantly(P<0.01)and the serum IgA levels in Group III enhanced significantly (P<0.05). compared with with the Group II, the serum IgG,IgA and IgM levels of pigs in Group III enhanced significantly (P<0.05).On the trial 60d, compared with with the Control Group, serum IgM levels of pigs in Group III enhanced significantly(P<0.05)and the serum IgG enhanced significantly(P<0.01), compared with with the Group II, the serum IgG and IgM levels of pigs in Group III enhanced significantly (P<0.01), the serum IgA enhanced significantly (P<0.05).
