Boron deflcience were related to physiological metabolism,which were harmful to plant.In the south of Jiangxi province,Newhall navel orange presented boron deficiency symptom obviously.But its physiological and biochemistry change is unkown.Phenolic metabolism was of advantage to resist bad condition and infraction of pathogeny,can adjust demage caused by boron deficience.But there were few study on citrus.So,we investigated physiological and biochemistry index of boron deficiency Newhall navel orange leaves from the south of Jiangxi province,in order to find out effect caused by boron deficience.We also investigated index of boron fertilize Newhall Navel Orange Leaves.The main results were as follows:1 Boron deficiency effects on physiological and Biochemistry of Newhall Navel Orange Leaves1.1 Relationship between total phenolic,correlative enzyme and boron deficience in Newhall Navel Orange leavesCompared to well-grown Newhall Navel Orange trees(control),(1) total phenolic in old leaves from last season of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange increased from 80 to 160 days after full bloom(DAFB),the period of fruit rapid enlargement,but during florescence and young fruit period no difference between them.Total phenolic in spring-flush leaves from current year enhanced from 100 to 180 DAFB.(2) phenylalanine ammonia-lyase(PAL) activity in old leaves from last season and spring-flush leaves from current year of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange enhanced during fruit development,especially during the period of fruit rapid enlargement.(3) there were on difference of Polyphenol Oxidase(PPO) and Per-oxidase(POD) activitis of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange leaves.1.2 Relationship between soluble sugar,starch,protein and boron deficience in Newhall Navel Orange leavesCompared to control,(1) soluble sugar content in old leaves from last season of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange enhanced during fruit development.Soluble sugar content in spring-flush leaves from current year enhanced during young fruit period,from 80 to 100 DAFB and from 160 to 200 DAFB,the period of fruit enlargement.(2) starch content in old leaves from last season of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange enhanced during fruit development.Starch content in spring-flush leaves from current year enhanced from 120 to 160 DAFB,the period of fruit rapid enlargement.(3) protein content in old leaves from last season of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange enhanced during fruit development.Protein content in spring-flush leaves from current year decreased.1.3 Relationship between chlorophyll,carotenoids and boron deficience in Newhall Navel Orange leavesCompared to control,(1) chlorophyll content in old leaves from last season of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange decreased during fruit development,especially from 160 to 200 DAFB.There were no difference of chlorophyll in spring-flush leaves from current year.(2) carotenoids content in old leaves from last season of boron deficiency Newhall Navel Orange decreased during fruit development,especially from 120 to 200 DAFB.Carotenoids content decreased from 140 to 160 DAFB in leaves from last season and spring-flush leaves from current year of fertilized Newhall Navel Orange(first flower stage,young fruit period,fruit enlargement period) decreased during fruit enlargement.2.2 Relationship between soluble sugar,starch,protein and boron fertilize in Newhall Navel Orange leavesCompared to control,(1) the soluble sugar in old leaves from last season of fertilized Newhall Navel Orange(first flower stage,young fruit period,fruit enlargement period) decreased at 80 DAFB.Soluble sugar in spring-flush leaves from current year decreased from 80 to 140 DAFB,period of fruit enlargement.(2) starch in old leaves from last season of fertilized Newhall Navel Orange(first flower stage,young fruit period,fruit enlargement period) decreased during fruit development.Starch in spring-flush leaves from current year decreased at 80 DAFB, period of fruit enlargement.(3) protein in old leaves from last season of fertilized Newhall Navel Orange(first flower stage,young fruit period,fruit enlargement period) had no difference.Protein in spring-flush leaves from current year increased from 80 to 200 DAFB,period of fruit enlargement.2.3 Relationship between chlorophyll,carotenoids and boron fertilize in Newhall Navel Orange leavesCompared to control Newhall Navel Orange,the chlorophyll and carotenoids contents in old leaves from last season and spring-flush leaves from current year of three different fertilized Newhall Navel Orange increased during period of fruit enlargement.
