objective:To seek for the further prevention measures for rabies and enhance the prevention and control of rabies , we detect virus carrier rate and immune effect of dog immunized with live attenuated rabies vaccine in this subject to evaluate of live attenuated rabies vaccine. Methods: Experiment 1:Detecting the rabies virus antigen of 600 dogs saliva specimen which were collected from two monitoring points in Sichuan province from 2007 to 2008. 600 dogs saliva specimen of two monitoring points were divided into 2 groups. Group A ,a total of 300 dogs saliva specimen , 150 saliva specimen were tested rabies virus antigen before the injection of live attenuated rabies vaccine, 150 saliva specimen were tested rabies virus antigen after the injection of live attenuated rabies vaccine in three months.Group B is same to do. Two groups of dogs did not inject any rabies vaccine before the trial.Experiment 2: Sixty serum specimen were divided into 2 groups. Group A ,a total of 40 serum specimen,were injected with live attenuated vaccine .Group B, a total of 20 serum specimen ,were injected with inactivated rabies vaccine.Dog serum antibody tests in 3 month after vaccination.All serum specimen are used with Rapid Rabies Enzyme Immuno-Diagnosis method with the diagnosis kit produced by the institution of French Pasteur to detect rabies virus antibody. Operations were strictly according to specification and all reagent were used within expiration date. The presence or absence of rabies antigen is determined by comparing the absordance value of the specimen to the established cut-off value(COV).Numeration data was analysed by chi-square test used statistic package SPSS14.0 for windows.when T<1, Numeration data was analysed by Fisher's exact probabilities in 2Χ2 tables.when P<0.05we think difference have statistic significance,P>0.05 have no statistic significance. Results: (1) Dog rabies virus carrier rate between unvaccinated and vaccined by live attenuated rabies vaccine are no difference. (2) Antibody positive rate of conversion after human rabies vaccine (inactivated vaccine) was significantly higher than after live attenuated vaccine. Conclusions: Dog rabies virus carrier rate between unvaccinated and vaccined by live attenuated rabies vaccine are no difference. Dogs antibody titer after live attenuated vaccine was significantly lower than that of after inactivated vaccine . It urged our country to prohibit domestic animals vaccinated live attenuated rabies vaccine, instead of inactivated vaccine.
